On a cold winter night during Operation Sindur, an aging couple in a quiet Odisha village is stunned by the unexpected arrival of their only son , a soldier posted at the border. Over dinner, he quietly shares tales from the warfront. The parents, filled with renewed joy, begin dreaming aloud again ,a new house, his marriage, the sound of grandchildren filling their home. By morning, they wake to an army van at their doorstep — carrying their son's mortal remains.An army van pulls up outside, carrying the tricolor-draped coffin of their son ,who, as they now learn, was martyred two days earlier. What they embraced the night before was not flesh and blood, but the spirit of their son — keeping a silent promise to come home one last time. At the funeral, the father stands tall, eyes brimming but voice steady, as he salutes and whispers: “Jai Hind.”
